When you attend for a test of any kind you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. To telephone for test result, please call between 11:30 and 12:30 or 14:00 and 15:00 daily on 01483 898123. Please allow at least 7 days In respect of blood test results and 14 days in respect of X-ray or other diagnostic examinations before following up, although in some cases it may take longer for us to receive the results which then need to be reviewed by your named doctor.

In all cases should a result require urgent intervention you will be contacted by the practice.

Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.

Blood and Urine Tests

All blood and urine tests must be authorised by an appropriate clinician before being booked.

Our nursing team are only authorised to undertake blood tests and urine tests agreed by a clinician from Wonersh Surgery, if you have a blood form from your NHS consultant or for ongoing monitoring.

We cannot undertake blood tests on behalf of your dentist or private consultant without additional authorisation from one of our clinicians.

Please make sure that you have this authorisation for the test before booking a blood test appointment or dropping off urine samples.

If you attend an appointment for a blood test that has not been authorised you will be asked to book a telephone appointment with a GP to authorise your test, where appropriate. This is to ensure that the appropriate test or tests are done.
